The very practice of reading Scriptures will have a purifying effect upon your mind and heart.

- BILLY GRAHAM

In order to shaped more and more in the image and likeness of Jesus we need to engage with Him in a deeply and very truthful relationship. The Bible not only teaches how to do it, but also walk us into it by giving us guidance. We believe that Bible reading and meditation goes along with the practice of it.

“So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house right on the ground, without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.”
—Luke 6:46-49

Humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
—James 1:21b-25

Knowledge without practice doesn’t produce anything. By knowing and obedience to God, through practice of His Word, produce life, and life in abundance.

Is has been said that there is a God-shaped blank in every man’s heart. It is also true that there is a man-shaped blank in God’s heart. It is because of the latter that God yearns so much for us and pursues us so relentlessly, and it is because of the former that mere earthly things, even service, will never satisfy our hearts. Only God Himself can fill that blank which is made in His shape.
